A comprehensive online gallery was launched online to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Maroon community. This digital archive features an extensive collection of images, capturing traditional ceremonies, daily life, and historic artifacts.
The “Maroon Memorial” project aims to make heritage more accessible for the older generation of Aukan Maroons in the Netherlands, Suriname, and the diaspora by providing multilingual and co-created descriptions of colonial-era photo collections.
